Wanna stay in Kawhia? Have I got the bach for youPM me for details
One of us staying at the Motu community house has had to pull out of the ride so there is a bed free there now if anyone wants it .
I have rung the community house informing them of the free bed so if anyone needs it give them a ring (06) 8635002.
Also they said they have a friend that has a cottage or unit at motu that could sleep 2 or 3 people if anyone needs it.

Excellent news about being able to get gas earlier. With the low rainfall leading up to this event the Takaputahi River will be quite low.
For those who are interested on the Sunday morning after we have done the windiest part of the Motu Rd I am planning on doing the Otipi track.
This track starts by crossing the Takaputahi River and then winds it way up to the top of a mountain range before decending down to the Motu river.
Then back out the way we came.
About 20 kms long each way, it is do-able on any bike with decent dual purpose tyres.
Did it last year about a month after the MMMMM ride and it is well worth the detour. Would add about 1.5 hours of riding into the morning for those of you looking for slightly more of a challenge.
If you can get through the River at the start it is not dificult after that.
Here for a good time, not necessarily a long time

Make sure someone takes a GPS and records the track, take a few pics and then I can include it for other riders to enjoy.
