Been using Twin Air for 5 years for my sons KTM's. Never had a filter become un-usable. We also spray them each time before use. When racing MX we might change filter after each race depending on what the track is like. Reason to have 1/2 a doz filters with us as cleaning them while at the track just don't work.

May the bridges I burn light the way.

Doesn't apply to you so much as you ride one of those weird bikes where you put oil in the petrol, but one of the major contributors to a knackered 4 stroke is not cleaning your air filter regularly. A fresh filter every ride is very little effort for a lot of peace of mind.

And yes, I also grease my linkages regularly

I use a twin air and no toil wash and oil. Cleaned every ride. On average I suppose twice a month. Lasted 2 yrs and it was the glue that failed not the foam. I'll only buy twin air.
