    Any beer-fueled mechanics down south?

Is there any hobby mechanic in DUNEDIN who can help me work on my bike? In return: Beer. Maybe lots of it.

I want to work on my bike but need an experienced guide/mentor because I haven't worked a lot with bikes.

I understand the basics but if my experience of working with cars is anything to go by, first time's always a bitch, especially if you're trying to remove and work on the engine.

    Any takers?

Just had a quick look at the site, he makes a lot of sense. My advice buy a manual and start with the basics first - if you are comfortable with car engines, bike are similar but smaller. It's easy to make fuck ups so take your time and it should all be okay in the end. BTW I would work for beer or bourbon but am a tad far away.
    Good Luck

That's my biggest fear. And since it's my daily commuter, I can't afford to have it sidelined.

The other problem being, I'm not very comfortable with cars either. In fact I'm fairly mechanically challenged. It just to happens that due to sheer necessity, I've had to do bit of this and that work on cars. So I kinda sorta maybe know my way around a car (as long as it's an 80s honda) .

Btw, thanks for all the offers guys. Currently talking to Tim trying to sort something out. Cheers
