Getting my bike out of Auckand Port- End July

Transworld was the broker for bringing my bike in. They were good enough to let swap batteries and headlamps in the warehouse before I rode it off.

Is the crate reuasble?

Out of India I'd imagine the local agent would be Vanguard, Mainfreight or Mondiale. Does your B/L not mention any agent details? If you have a container number you can probably find out fairly easily who it's consigned to. Do you have transhipment details from Singapore as to what dingey your box is on?

Best bet is simply to ring your Indian contact who organised the freight and ask who they consigned the FAK to. Then ring that agent here and ask for an arrival notice.

I wouldn't re-use the crate, its Indian and might not be allowed out of the yard.

I've been contacted and invoiced by Hemi. I spoke to another few agents, they said they would be more expensive as they have to haul the consignment over to their yards.

I am hoping to do the customs stuff myself (no spare cash). Do they go to the yard and do the biosecurity check?

I'm guessing I rock up at the customs at the port and fill out the paperwork?

I might take a gander on Monday, pay them a visit and check it out.

anywhere between $35 and $45 NZD give or take a few dollars either side. You will also need to pay for registration, how long will you be here again?

Yea sounds like you only need to pay acc levies as long as your licensing for your bike is up to date in its country of origin

New Zealand is approximately 0.0000000037% road, point the bike almost anywhere and gas it.

Hi

My bike is in a crate, in a container on its way from India via Singapore.

I don't want to use a freight forwarder if I can help it. I've spoken with the port (must remember which dept) and they say I can take the bike and leave the crate there..

So plan is to go down with Bill of Lading... see if they will let me do this. Put front wheel back on bike, put oil in, see if it starts (battery might be flat), if it does then ride it away, if not go and hire a van and come and collect it. I'm staying in Sandringham.

The bike will enter NZ without a Carnet, on a "DEED OF UNDERTAKING" In respect of motor vehicles imported under concession 80 part 2 of the Tariff act 1988- My carnet has just run out.. and I'm here for a year on working holiday visa.
