    The perfect line.

Well I finally beat it --a corner combination thats been bugging me for months. Downhill ,off camber, broken seal and a manhole cover mid corner.
Theres a line about a pencil wide that lets ya get drive round that corner without shaking ya fillings out. so ACC roading department I beat ya's

    Well done, Frosty!

I know how that feels. Err.. well, at least the bit about a corner beating me for months. I take the same route to work every day, and there's a series of right-angle corners that I just about never get right, because I'm scared of falling off. The closest I've come, the front tyre slid a bit. Pharking BT020s...
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

ahh.. yeah, tis a tricky one. I like the 90° corner coming off the Northern onto cook street, now that's top class. That road (bridge) is Wellington Street, and it's tricky. I don't mind it so much in the dry, but in the wet, it took me a while to find the right line between the two manhole covers, uneven surface and holes in the road. I'd say how I take it, but it'd probably mean very little. I use to do it every day for a couple of years riding to work, so I've got a wee bit of practice in..

Coming from Howe St onto that onramp is awesome tho, a few long open corner to accelerate hard down (then hit the anchors for the motorway!!)

    least you conquered it!

My favourite local set is just at the start of Sylvan Ave, Great on the bike, or in customers cars

    Congrats Frosty

Dude I used to work at Placemakers a few years ago
I have an unusually large respect for those 3 corners as a result.
I lost count of the number of bikes Ive picked up there
Trucks hit the bump and if they have full tanks they dump diesel just there

yeah, I can imagine. One time I've gone round that corner, and on the other side of it was a whole beach! another time, I saw just as I was going into the corner in the wet, a nice rainbow on the road all the way round - a truck had dumped diesel all the way round.. and it's such a tempting corner too

Now the next big challenge is to be able to accelrate through the intersection at the top of Hobson going on to the Northwestern without the ripple strips in the middle of the road throwing you into the car thats right next to you. I have to button off every time through this piece of shitty roading, and for a major intersection where everyone around you starts accelerating towards 80-90km/h while you're pussy-footing through it is a nightmare. Of course if you hit it at 90, then button off so you're doing 75-ish when you get ontot the M/way it's not too bad, but the cop behind you won't look on it too kindly that you're doing 90 up Hobson St eh?

P.S Anyone know how you can get a note or email to Pheobe Falconer of the Herald to look into this one?
