Gah, looks like I have been rostered down for work outside of Auckland for the weekend of the Cliffhanger sprints.
Oh well next year, hopefully with a turbo bike too. Time to start saving for those pistons and rods![]()

$200 worth of Ohlins front springs and fresh oil make a huge difference to the Hornets front end. RT made me up a Ohlins rear shock for significantly less than that figure you mentioned for the rear. It needed it after I put in the front springs as the front improved so much that it showed how poor the rear was!
Now I reckon I can adapt one of those VTR1000 supercharge kits ............
Busa front ends are often very cheap on ebay ..............
Put a pipercross filter in my bike yesterday. Old filter was filthy. Plenty of bugs in it too.
Very slight difference when accelerating away from the line but nothing to be that impressed about. Haven't tested the top end yet, maybe sometime on saturday night after the cops go home.
I have evolved as a KB member. Now nothing I say should be taken seriously.
Whats odd is that if you built that and lived in Wellington why wouldn't you ride it at the cliffhanger sprints event and get that 340clicks on record. Why else would you build a bike at claimed 400hp? Also claims fastest bike in NZ. Idd want the NZ land speed bike record to back that statement up.

That bike has been on trademe for around 6 months. He originally wanted 25k for it. 17k is more than reasonable in my opinion considering the amount to work which has been put into the project.
I think with that engine build it is capable of alot more though. Hes only running a .010 spacer which is quite close to stock compression, most pistons recommend a .080. The engine is bulletproof, he could easily run 20psi with the right compression settings. That thing is an absolute weapon
