That would be Shrek and I wouldn't recommend the Awakino to newbies or anyone riding a bike that is a bit to big (and precious)for them, lots of steep and shaley (if thats a word) climbs and decents, chances are your bike may get a wee lie down at some stage, was thru there last week heading south to north and track/shingle scree's were in similar condition to last years DB

heres one of Ryans pics from a prerun a couple of years ago. last year i skipped it as i wanted to complete the rest of the day - the year before it wore me out and i missed out on carricktown etc. Got a heavier bike this year and not very fit so it would probably kill me if i tried

edit - it may be advgds pic as i just noticed his logo on the pic

Couldn't imagine the tenere being any heavier than my KLR.

So far 3 times without incident, but the bashplate gets assholes and it is very physically draining.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

I'm becoming mildly concerned, so far the preparations for my R80 (1983 RT) have involved changing the road tyres for something knobblier (ie; tyres that have tread), wiring in the GPS, finding a couple of bits of rope to hold the panniers on and adjusting the valves. I do have an old road work sign that will become the bash plate, I just need to find some industrial strength zip ties to hold it on with.

Maybe I should lash out and add some additional fuel range, I do have a 20 litre fuel can that could go in a milk crate on the pillion seat, might look a bit tacky tho.
