That was a bit of an epic. I haven't finished watching (laptop battery about to die) but I'll get back to it. How many kms from start to end?

i wanted to do the dusty but after seeing this, maybe I' m not so sure.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

I've only skimmed the video so far but there's a big chunk of Awakino Challenge section in there so know that it's a challenge option you're looking at.

that section on the vid i believe is about 60/70K ... lots of loose rock, not a single baby head. To get there it was i believe 200k of easy gravel, and after that 100+ of mostly easy except the last challenge section after Cromwell, which would be really hard had it rained (clay surface) otherwise it was rutted but not too bad.

My main problem was burning too much energy and getting wasted after the first hutt, thus having to stop for 40' to recover

then of course I dropped the bike 5 times and got stuck once, of which 4 I needed some help. I'd say don't drop the bike makes it easier . I have good tyres and low pressure, possible needed to carry some more speed ... will have to keep practicing

but remember is a challenge ...

Great video Pampa it certainly reminds me how hard it was and i was on a wr450 but I'm a very average rider at best. I needed to stop a few times to suck in some air and rest. Never done anything quite like it before. Next year i plan to be fitter

Was harder than usual this year. My riding partner wanted to curl up in the snow and die he was that knackered, and he was on a 450exc. Poof.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

thanks woodman it was my first now i don't feel so bad. My 32 year old son wants to take my 660 tenere over next year. He should be ok he's a much better rider than me and fitter. A new set of D606 should see him dig his way over. He's gonna make me do it again.

can relate. My two riding partners were very good riders which is good as I had help on a couple of sections. The only think is they kept a very good rhythm which wore me out
