Also put the exhaust downpipes on just to see what it would look like, bleed the front brakes now they have new seals, pistons and brake lines.

Still have to get the tank, side panels and tail fairing resprayed, seat re-covered and maybe a new base as its pretty rusty, overhaul the rear brake, replace the brake line, decide what i'm going to do about the clocks (tacho is buggered), buy a set of K&N and finally see if she'll start.
i've got a new old stock set of stripes for a 1000G if you're interested

Got a second set of side covers and air box covers that I indent to muck around with to make them look slightly different.

Where are you getting a new seat base from? I could do with one for the 1100GK. Current project is to try and rebuild the existing base with bog to get the shape right and then use it make a fibreglass replica, but if I could get a new one that would be a lot better.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

Excellent question Pete, to be honest I haven't got a clue and have not had a look on line yet but will let you know if I find something

I've extracted the piston from the quad. Before it decided to remove itself, via my scrotum. :

Been a long time since I've removed a piston quite so quickly. Possibly the last time I did a pushrod single...

Have had a chinese project bike for a couple of months now that I have been plodding away at to get it running,

Have finally got everything going how it should but it still wasn't firing, Done a comp test in the weekend and found it was low on compression,
So off with the top end,
I had a new piston, and rings to go back on but because its a p.o.s china, they were infact about 18mm too small, so I have ordered the correct piston,
Just so happens to come with a new barrel that I dont need.. ($20 NZD all up )

Cleaned the valve cover, head and barrel and gave them a freshen up with paint.
That was about my weekend shedtime in a nutshell.

Don't have a gargre - have a barn - but that's only got parking space for 3 bikes, what with the Allis Chalmers, the store room, and all the tools and building shit in it..the RG250 needs a sort out and a tidy up - it runs OK...just a bit erratic on the LH cylinder at low revs - that lives in a container down the drive, the GT250 is still residing in the dead Ford Econovan, although all the new bits are stored upstairs in the construction site/Barn and the CB350....had to send that to a mates place to put it all back together so the missus can get it back on the road........jeesus I'm slack!

Started building the new garage this week, shame its 600kms away. Good excuse for getting away though.

Was gonna post up a couple of picks, but Im too stupid to work out how to get them from the camera to the new computer.

I don't have the luxury of using the garage, it's filled up with bikes & tools; Not even enough space to setup the pool table

So my current "garage" project gets banished to the shelter of tarps (serves it right really for not being a bike) and is transported to the garage piece by piece. I am at the beginning stages of a Land Rover rebuild

A few picks of the new garage, managed to get the frame and roof up in 2 days, which was pretty good I thought. One pic shows the view from the doorway. Should of changed the oil return hose from the vacuum pump on the bus before leaving too, would of been easier than doing it there.
