I would put the whole fiasco down to not concentrating / lack of observation, to busy swooping past the slower accelerating cars from the slip road. Probably euphoric due to the unseemly weather in the UK at the moment. Shit happens.

Bumpity bump. You get to see some real stupid shit driving around in trucks, thats for sure. From all sorts of vehicles. Bikes are no exception, even professional drivers do some stupid shit on the roads. You gotta have your wits about you when your on the road, no matter what you are driving or riding.
