    Getting back into it

    Hey guys
Have decided to back into it again after a long break. Just wanting some opinions.
Im on my learners can sit my restricted but dont have a bike.

I had a zxr250a and really enjoyed that.
Im wondering do i borrow a bike to get my restricted and then get a 600 or something?
Or do I stick with the 250 until Im use to riding again.

Should have maybe 5 to spend on a bike when I decide what im going to do.

Im thinking about maybe another ZXR as its what I know or maybe a CBR (or are honda stil lame?)

The other issue is im a short arse so even the ZXR was a little too tall but i managed alright.

    ANy help would be good

Don't know if you're aware, but the restrictions have changed. Licenses no longer restrict by engine capactiy, but by power to weight ratio. You can ride some 600s on your learners, but by the sounds of it you were talking about a supersports 600. You wont be able to do this until you're on your full.

Whether it's legal or not is one thing, whether it's a good idea or not is another.

Would suggest you check the LAMS list for eligible bikes. The Sports bike is a style not a cc rating. Some sports bikes will be ok and some will not.
Like i say, check the LAMS list to see what is ok.

Some people would argue that a 400 LAMS would be better than a 250, since it's less likely to have been abused by restricted and learner riders for a decade or two, but take that with a grain of salt.

all the 400 riders i know (not many really) abuse the shit out of them way more than the 250 they started on.
on that note tho i know of a 2010 ninja may be comin up for sale fairly soon as he wants to get in to somit bigger, apart from the fact its a ninja and its 250cc the only other thing i know about it is its a red one
