Bikes that are really not suited to LAMS

After just reading the KTM450 thread with Crasher's and Trash's comments, got me thinking.
As quite a few of the bigger bikes have some form of restriction on them,..what's the worst bikes for this actual process. I see the KTM ain't a good one. What's the GSX600's like in restricted mode etc?

You can't get a restricted Gixxer6 here, but they're only 33hp anyway and completely shit.
A few KTMs are pretty spastic on the list, the FZR400 (namely the 3TJ) and the Honda RVF400R, the latter two will show their heels to the outlawed 2ts in standard trim

The GSX650FU is quite a nice package, with really good bottom end and midrange. When you try to open the taps though it just falls over above about 7K. Strange as it may seem, but if I had the choice of any bike restricted to be LAMs compliant, it'd be the Hyosung GT650R. It's without a doubt the quickest and feels the gruntiest. Standard bikes that meet LAMs right now the choice would be the DR650 but the 390 Duke will be here in a month and I have a feeling it'll trump 'em all.

I personally disagree with D/Lovers opinion on the RVF400 roosting 2T 250s. The RVF is cobbled to 45hp standard. My Kiwi new, VJ21 made 52hp at the rear tread on a Dynojet and weighed a mere 140kg(ish) It pasted any 400 both on the road and the track.

I see the Aprilia SXV450 & most of the Husky range are listed as LAMS. Bet the SXV would be a different character....
How well would that run restricted as from what I've read they're quite a highly strung beast.

Standard RVFs I have seen run around 50-53 at the wheel on the dyno. Quoted HP on the RVF is well under the real hp. Any 2t with a little tickling will roost one, yes. But bog stock, the RVF should not be a LAMS bike

She'll be right, the SXV will explode and you can't get parts for it from 'prilla NZ

The only positive there is that they are rather rare and most of them get snapped up by VMX riders anyway.
    Personally, I'd love one !!

But I'd love to see someone getting instructed for their first time ever riding on an IT490.

I had a 465 and it beat my mates vf750f from zero to 100. Him on the road and mine on the dirt beside him.
Drum brakes made stopping a big issue.

I'd have to say the RD400. On paper it doesn't put down as much power as the rest, but they're really not learner material. If it's running well and jetted properly, they're quick quick and the sudden hit of power at 6000 rpm could catch the learner rider off guard. They love to wheel stand, too. Even the 250 gets very light at the front when revving it out and if you slip the clutch a bit, it pops right up. On the upside, since they can be modded quite extensively, they're a good bike to keep you entertained even when you have your full. Chuck on some chambers, get rid of the stock air filter and up the jetting and wham, 15 more horses just like that.

The way they make their power is perfect for a learner. It's not a intimidating bike, and I liken it to a sewing machine. But it is a Honda..

The GSX definitely wins the award for the best named LAMs bike. I'd almost buy it for the name alone!

"...has a minor dent on the muffler due to feet going in the wrong place..."
Umm,..what's the muffler made out of to cause this? 1mm alloy?
