I think the words, pivotal and iconic fit the bill. Yet they can be bought fairly cheap compared to shitters in optimistic thread.

So not bad bikes for the Era? I quite like the 90's styling with the twin round headlights.

And the 00s, and the 10s right up to 2017 and likely further. What's your point? Thats not 90s styling on that mid 80s bike.

I thought it was 90's styling. Obviously I am wrong.

I thought this is an ok buy. 4.5 grand for a gsxr1000. Allegedly been rebuilt. But done 100 000 kilometers on the chassis.

I remember when those alloy framed Suzuki's came out, I had a 81 Z1000J, made all the steel tube bikes look old overnight.
DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.

Not a bad price. I would look at it.

That slider says it has been down the road.

It's a hell of a lot of bike for the money that's for sure. I don't get my full license until November. And I can't afford to run a leader bike. I am at a bit of a loss as to what to replace the hyosung with at the end of the year. The crap brakes are really pissing me off. I'm not sure if an old 400 is worth it when a far newer 600 isn't much more money. I ride my bike everywhere no matter the weather so it needs to be relatively cheap to run. I was thinking something like an sv650 or bandit etc.

Would that crash be a cause for concern or just another thing to get checked out?

An SV or Bandit are far better bikes as allrounders
That gixxer you'd be wanting to see paperwork for thats said to have been done, at its point in life its the sort of bike to take off the road & to the track.

First two letters that came into my mind before finishing your post were SV. But a bandit or even a CBR600 can be quite practical.
