    First day on the road!

Hi all, Got a dual purpose bike six weeks ago, and this weekend, last boxes ticked with wof, reg and L-plate, I was all ready to launch. While I have spent a bit of time on the trails these past six months, it has been the best part of 20 years since I have ridden a motorbike on the road. Thorough revision of the motorbike road code, half an hour putt-putting around the neighbourhood reacquainting myself with indicators, mirrors etc, then it was time to bite the bullet and get amongst the traffic before I had a chance to get cold feet. Had an errand to run across town, so before I knew it I was negotiating city roads, the motorway, six lane intersections, feeling like a newbie and freaking out just enough to know I deserved to congratulate myself when I pulled up the driveway about an hour later, mission completed. No fanfare from hubby who was working on his bike in the garage. Nope, he said. He hadn't worried about me. I will take that as a vote of confidence.
Glad to be back on two wheels!

    Great work, well done.
Obviously your husband has confidence in you.

Keep your wits about you as complacency is a killer.

The fear does go away after a while, but never let your guard down.

Having recently been passengered around some of Christchurch's road I think you did extremely well. Congrats on Hubby being so unconcerned, I'm sure he was simply showing his solidarity with you and knew you could do it!
MNy wife currently has 2 400cc machines and these days decides which one shes going to ride for the day, on the day. Don't ask me, I don't know how she does it. I simply take the one she leaves behind out for a strop occasionally.
Enjoy yourself, thats what all riders should be doing first and foremost.
Every day above ground is a good day!:
