I don't need the power of the 1000...there are very few circumstances where I would use it...or want it...

for example....I was reading o-100kmhr times on the net for various bikes the other week...k5 gsxr1000 2.8,zx10 3.04,r1 3.13,999s 3.28, and I recall a 0-62mph [aka 100kmph] time in a article i read on the net for a tls was...2.82 standard in 1999...hmmm....most of those big inline fours will have overtaken the tls by around 150-160 and the gsxr is probally about to lap me...but I think the speed limit is only 100[well maybe 140-160 on a nice summers day] and I'ld rather play with corners than straights....on the track well yeah the power would be good at the topend [thats way I'm thinking modding the tls and chassis to handle it]

other wise buying a more nimble and accurate handling machine with better power than what I've got...hence rsvr factory or gsxr 750 + goodies

in saying that...I was racing what looked like a 03 rsv over the rimatakas the other weekend...and he was attacking the corners really aggressivly and harder than I was...and I just stuck to his tail the whole way...I don't think I would have been able to pass him though....he was pulling a few metres in the little straights and I would catch up after a few corners...

Fair enough CP, one of the biggest things bout the 1000's though is that you dont have to use the power as there is a shitload of torque on hand, more than a twin in some cases, the power is good though when the urge comes to loft the front in air at 170kph

Buy the 750 or mod the TL dont let the team down.

    Arrow Nice bike poo

I agree about the need for power, or the lack of need. I'm heading for the cbr600rr probably. But then again a 636 or R6 might do. Keen to try out a gsxr 750 also...

    More useful to start a.....collection.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

you mean a collection of bikes...I already have five...don't need any more.

I'm thinking seriously about having a bit of a save-a-thon and going the GSX-R 750 maybe

    {i sence a smile on LB face already}

    Hmmm

Who's got a k4-k5 GSX-R 750...any opinions...does any one know a link or two to any reviews-tests on the net??

okay people...the TLS is on the market...and the suspension goodies go with it...

one catch...I'm keeping the ohlins steering damper.

so the ohlins shock goes with the bike and the gold valves, etc

    $9000

or we could do a deal where a deposit is payed and you take over the payments of $65 a week...or refinace with help from my incredibley no pissing around broker...who will finance just about anything.

    sound like a good deal???

If it were my bike/money we were playing with.

Id mod the Twin Pot. Just somthing about the thump as opposed to the F1 Scream that i prefer.

In anycase i would rather have somthing that performed on corners better than straits.

I think the power of the 1L 4 pots is over kill. fun, but seriously over kill.

If i had the money, Aprilia RSV1000R. a nice two pot that handles out of the box.

We are going to mod the TL....I'm pretty sure Its the right thing to do!!!!

it needs to lose some weight though...suggestions?

So is fibreglass lighter than, plastic fairings?

I know how fast the old 97 Tls are but at the end of the day it's still going to be beaten by a late model 750

    is that a challenge

    I rode a gsxr 750 a week ago...k5...it was quick...but didn't put the power down like my TL...it would beat the TL...in a race...no question!!

But if you read the mods planned on the previous page you'ld know where I'm going to head with this...it WILL superseed the abilities of any late model 750..and be knocking on the doors of the latest litre bikes...I hope

Best way to lose weight is go go on a diet cheepest too.
