    Calling KTM Superduke Owners......

    .
    .

One of my mates has ordered a KTM Superduke - delivery around the end of August.

I know that we've got one owner in Marlborough (sorry, I can't remember your name but we were going to meet Jimmie yesterday). Any others on the site?

    Any comments on the bike?

My mate is particularly keen to get an after market exhaust system. Any comments? I've suggested that he contact Neptune as well as looking around at other systems.

    Thanks

yip met up with jimmy was a great day for a ride (thanks jimmy) i think (excuse my spelling) leo divinci do a pipe for it and you can listen to it on there site. The shop (Superior motorcycles) offer what i thought a good price on Akrapovic's with purchase of bike. me im sticking to standard for now heaps of weight helps wheelstands and need all the help i can get. sounds bit like a trail bike though until you get it cranking then ok. Packing wasnt good on bikes mark on tank, tyre marked iv done 3000k and killed rear anyway and thats with 1500k run in period. some have marks on swing arm looks like you can clean of (not) i have leak in cooling pipe after first service that shop is sorting for me. Scratched and Dented my pipe when i had pack on back and gassed it in a dip on corner (have stiffend suspension since and ok) well thats about it for bad points. apart from that this bike rules is well suited to my riding it does promote hooligism, awesome quality gear, brembo brakes, wheels renthal bars wp suspension magura hydrolic clutch. gear box and brakes are shit hot. bike comfy u dont need gel seat its all good. tank gets me to every fuel station so far in south island. instrament panel easy to read and has fuel trip meter, mirrors are good. oh lights suck a bit Im not used to light moving when you turn bars. And i have had no problem with wind. if you want to go 160k plus, buy a faired bike i dont think thats what this bike is about.in saying that im sure it would go heaps quicker but ill wait til hav a go day to find out. i put my black seat on orange bike i thought it looked quite good. Mags hav some gay bad points written about bike (like is a vwin. or Mirrors suck (bullshit) or just seem to suck up to manufacturer so they can get next model to demo, every bike has its faults)so i thought i would giv you some real world comments. hope this helps.

Heres a pic while waiting for jimmy

was that the one that they with drew as it would offend the PC brigade? That one was awesome, 90mph weaving between car and wheeling over bridges, and a jump on a ped crossing!! nuts.

Mate that rides with me has Akrapovic mufflers on his . Sound excellent & seem to go pretty well . He's still trying to get use to the handling coming off a Aprilia RSVR 1000 . But I told him it will take alittle bit to change from Road to Motard .

Thanks for the feedback. (Thanks to LB for posting question on my behalf). Im just getting used to using this site...Hoping to collect my SD next weekend, (very exciting!!) have an option on the Akrapovic system - but i'm thinking I'll wait and see how the standard cans sound. My main reason for looking at after market mufflers is to get that throaty (but not abnoxious) twin rumble going. I'm also trying to work out the best luggage system - anyone got any feedback on what works? Cheers.

also check to see if you need other heat shields for after market as they have them listed in equipment book they are carbon fibre and say they are for titanium cans
