Shorty levers on sports/road bikes - Pros and cons please

I am looking at getting some shorty clutch and brake levers for my 05 Z1000.

I found some on TM for $120. They are CNC machined aluminium. Add states they are adjustable and fold away in a crash. And they are direct replacement for the standard ones on my bike.

My question is, what are the pros and cons of using them? Beside the looks, do they make your breaking easier or harder? same with clutch action.

I have seen them but never had any experience with them. But I think my naked Zed would look nice with them on.
I've spent my money on bikes, booze and babes. The rest I've wasted....

they do the same thing as the standard levers but have a nicer feel and are nice and easy to adjust while riding.. ,

The crutch took a while to get used to cause I used to use all fingers - I use three fingers on it now, 2 on the brakes (same as before with full lever)

    Hang on.....

    I know that mine does
I've got gold Pazzos on mine. I was a lil' hesitant re the short clutch but now prefer it by far.
The only negative I can see is if you have lame brakes, which you don't

Yeah it took me a while to get used to using 3 fingers on the clutch. Now I hold the pinky out like sipping a cup of tea old chap.

I have ridden with both clutch and brake levers shortened to snap off point as a result of connecting with the ground I quite liked them like that. Will look to blinging Millie with them as funds permit, they have to be blue though

For 'affordable' blingage try THIS GUY.
He can get a hold of alsorts but he usually has it in stock.
He has an actual store as well 50m down the road from Botany Honda MC.

Liam at fastbikegear.co.nz is really good to deal with too. Not "asian knock-off" products so a little more expensive than the guy in Botany but different brands have different "feel" to them. I have Titax levers and love the feel of the lever profile (I have large paws). There's a nice looking BLUE here too fwiw.

I started with some cheap-arse Chinese knock-offs - actually they appeared to be of high quality. Went standard clutch shorty brake. I liked the brake so much I ordered another cheap-o set with short-short.

Then spent some bucks on suspenders and suddenly worried about my Asian levers (without any apparent justification other than the $ spend on suspension!) so I ordered up some CRG's in short/short from a USA contact. Man these CRG's are spunky

I have a preference for the short ones.

I've PMed you with a link to try - cheap enough to experiment with.

PS anyone want some asian shorties for the Hornet 900 very cheap - let me know.

Wow, great feedback so far. I seen them on MX bikes, but never thought how they would feel on the road bike. And the more I think about it the better the Zed would look with them (In green ofcourse)
