Pics not opening for me either.
COP, "Ive been waiting to catch you all day"
BIKER "Sorry officer, I got here as fast as I could"
Yea well, I did just that...ya see there was only one XR500 A left in HB, price $2,750 they wouldn't trade the GT so rode back to K.Turners in Hastings and did a straight swap on an brand new 250ER then home for a pic and then straight over to trade on the XR....and they didn;t believe what I had just done either, so after a confirmation phone call to Turners deal was done...I lost on the new ER of course but owned the last XR , after the paperwork, got them to swap the rear knobbly for a conti road and I rode it home, The flip side to this is ...about 8 months later my old GT was back in Turners for sale .......so I brought it back....I think I paid about a grand more than I originally paid for it .......And still own it....would I do it again......on a brand new XR.....f. yea
i'll 2nd that f.yeah

6 months..still have the plate /screws in my arm..
never did ride that dam KDX again...

Nowadays they don't use balls of wax for brakes. Discs all the way baby!

now looking at that pic i must get onto repainting engine sidecovers asap...any ideas of a good paint? steel wheels maybe? i used supercheap silver on the fork legs and it makes for an excellent aluminium/silver, quite stock looking so may try that on engine bits too

yea man, an why excuse the oversize pic.....looks great![]()
here's the pic with me and the ER before the trade, the XR500 in the background belonged to my brother at the time, it was previously owned by Lance Bravington, another Hawkes Bay XR rider. I also owned that later on.......there's a story behind that bike as well...........in fact when I look at this pic I owned all the vehicles seen here over a period of time, HD wagon...my parents then, and a vauxhall Victor owned at that point by my brother...that car was a special build he did, it had a 2.3 van motor converted to 11.1 comp. 28/36 dcd Weber, and a Datsun SSS gearbox fitted with a specially made adapter plate, I sold it to a young kid who raped it around a lamp post.....unfortunately he didn't hurt himself.....but totalled the car
