Ocean1 you can buy a yikebike here: http://www.yikebike.com/compare-models

From what I can tell there are quite a few electric commuter solutions out there, but they're all so highly priced.

The scruuger thing is another good idea, but if it's priced too high it'll never get purchased.

And by taxing my memory to the max and dedicating endless hrs on t'google I found them: http://www.fxbikes.com/

Looks to be slightly more expensive, slightly more technically advanced. Damn fine idea but it looks like they're still short of some marketing clout.

I wouldn't rule one out. In fact I might have a word with Santa.

Prices will be around US$5995 retail as we roll out our dealer network, BUT…

Team FX discount price is US$3995 ex factory if you make a reservation now!

That would be fun but 3500 wouldn't one be better off getting a trials bike?

Well no. Although depending on workable shortcuts I'd do it.

But I think Pete was comparing the two based on their respective claims to a fun budget.

Because neither is going to have much impact on the practical transport market. No here anyway.

As for a sleeper, this may well be my next project:
