    I considered it

There's heaps of traction, but it is steep and there's a lot of tree roots so about 3/4 up it becomes more difficult especially when there's so many people spread all over it

Jesus we're knackered. Actual track was only 12 km long. Did about 36k, but that was mostly transport sections.

We knocked out 85km, I need the week off to recover, the track got progressively more cut up in some of the forestry sections which made it harder

We did 2 laps and 5 enduro sections. That hill of doom was littered with bodies on our second lap. Made getting a good line up a bit trickier. First time I have really enjoyed the Amberly ride. Bring on Omihi in a couple of weeks.

Here's a couple of pics now resized.

Hill of course looks small, but was steep & the trench was too small to get out of until we widened it. Had to pull my bike out with a strap once I found this out.

Downhill logs. Where does this track actually go? This could be Tiger country.

Finally I see pylons, we will get out.

Ahh dammit twisted it sideways at last min. Click to view properly.

Went out on the new trail weapon today, bit dissapointed as I got smoked by Madness on the same bike, although mine was sitting unloved in a shed for fuck knows how long before I got it, impressed with how much full throttle in the first 2-3 gears without exploding it coped with but the carb needs work( photo courtesy of Madness who is probably still gloating)

Been out on Trialsy today. Will post a pic when I get near laptop.

Fun and civilised. Pop back from the riding area in 5 min at any time for a sandwich or a cup of smelly hot liquid I saw the others seemingly pretending to enjoy.

Not really a trail ride or in Canterbury but I did a day trip to the coast and went into big river on the Beta, only videoed the ride out

It looked like a very straight forward ride. Richard Streeter posted a Youtube clip of a ride in that area was pretty hard core, especially in the rain. Different route IIRC, but same destination.
