First time I've had a new dirtbike, so of course I crack a rad guard. Never did on every other shitter I've had.

But the std plastics are well thin. Pretty rubbish really. Pity as it looked good.

Last ride we did I stuffed it into a trench that got it stuck at a 45degree angle trying to get out, - too thin (we pulled it out with a strap then kicked the trench wider so the others could get up) . Then had to haul it under a fallen tree on that side, then fell over, on that side trying to ride up a step when my skill level disagreed with the pictures in my head.
So 3 counts then noticed it flapping in the wind on way back.

I have a huge collection of ziptied 21 model rad shrouds at home! I am trying Polisport plastics on my 22 but am still fully confident I will be able to destroy them. You have to have goals in this sport!

I'll post some pictures when I shrink them down a bit. Was at the edge of my skill level on the Bideford ride. Did a couple of A loops and I was the one who aced up the best.

Then we did this other one (Grants Grunter) that just kept going and Jezzuz! Wasn't marked as A++ but should have been. If there had been any sign of rain we would still be down there.

Apparently there were two others that were worse
One called. You're not a man until you've had a man

And the worse one Oh Deary me. They said that was Gold hard enduro . I never want to find out.

Feel good we made it. BBQ, a couple (or so) drinks. Life is good.

Will be a bit stiff tomorrow I'm sure.

Geez got to get fitter. Also got crazy cramp going up the worst hill. Only made it up with my patented flailing limb technique.

I've been using your technique for quite a number of years, it has served me well

    Here's a couple of pics.

The camera I think does pick up how steep it was. We sat at the bottom for about 10 minutes before we attempted it. I got cramp in my hand 1/2 way up so glad I didn't fall off & roll back down. Last pic from the top. Glad traction was good.

another A, but much easier. There was a nasty bog at the bottom that I circumnavigated & the others did too after extracting themselves messily from it.

I find the longer I sit there the less enthused I am about trying it

Ok it was probably 15 minutes. But there was no other way out once we were down there. Had to bulldog the bike down the hill to get there, others had fallen trying to ride down so we certainly couldn't have gone back.

TBH the traction was good if you kept going. There were a few that speared off to the sides and there seemed to be a long time between catching glimpses of them trying to extract themselves.
We also helped a poor chap who had fallen off in the loop and had no clutch lever. My mate swapped his front brake and amazingly they got it to work a bit. He wouldn't have got out without clutch control. He found a gate at the top and went back on gravel road. Which was good as he would have died attempting the next bit without a front brake.

Someone put those trees pretty close together.

Who brings a hat on a trail ride?

Kewl. Our local ride was cancelled. So I went out on the Trials with a mate. Fantastic fun. Did a club Trial last weekend, that was awesome. Life is good in the Bush going dingringding.
