Sometimes you wish it was easier, but if it was, everyone else would do it, then you remember you don't want to be like everybody else!

I've already spoken to the YSS guy and that's probably what it will end up with on the rear at some stage

That's got me thinking. I'm gonna have a look to see if they do an XR 250 replacement.

I snapped the shock on my CRM and replaced it with an XR one, it's still rubbish but less rubbish than the snapped one.

They can probably custom build one anyway, if you're Canterbury local then try Tim at Technical racing https://www.technicalracing.co.nz/ he's in Swannanoa or KSS, Tim is just doing my IT200 front forks and KSS are building me a rear shock

I know I'm a foreigner in this thread, my apologies, but it has that rare charm on KB of being about bikes..

Hey I'm a Capitalist (meaning ; from Wellington, just thought of that, I'm hilarious) and I'm posting here for the same reason. It's the only active thread in off road.

Just been practicing gluing broken Beta plastic with superglue mixed with graphite powder from a builders pencil, like wot I saw on the Internet. My trials bike guard I could twist fairly well and it was two pieces. The XTRAINER rad guard is now drying. Already have replaced both with aftermarket, but stuck at home this week in isolation so time to play with dumb stuff.

    After repacking Trials bike muffler.

Are you using the Polisport ones? I have a set on my 22 Xtrainer. I think the factory had to have another shift employed when I had my 21, such were the number of Rad shrouds I went thru, before discovering the magic of cable ties.... Speaking of which, I have a full factory graphics kit for a 21 and a brand new right hand blue shroud for sale if you are interested?

i have had most success gluing plastics by using flat plastics gussets underneath to spread the load like a large weld fillet i guess.
    looks ugly but works
I normally use araldite or similar ,i have not used this for bendy plastics though.
i have heard of people adding baking soda to superglue. is this for colour or strength?

people suggest you can take out the white or discoured bit from a bend or fracture of break or bend with a heat gun i have never tried...

Apparently graphite powder trumps baking soda by a margin. So far so good but need more glue.

Yes polisport. Black sadly but so be it.

Unfortunately it's the right hand side I broke.

Hey. Wait a minute. That never happens.
    Name your price.

Nothing quite as nice as that, lets just say I inherited it

They built me rear shocks for the BSA ADV bike as well, can't buy them off the shelf for some reason
