Scargill Trail ride this weekend, not sure we've been on this property before

I found Scargill pretty dusty and rocky. Quite slippery considering it was dry! Definitely a track for 4 strokes although after being roosted by a KX450 at speed we came around a corner to find the KX down a bank, facing the wrong way and with the rider feeling very sorry for himself! And yes, we stopped to help, because Beta riders care!

First lap was pretty slippery in the long grass, we were in the first dozen or so out, track wasn't really that interesting but was ok, very bumpy and rocky for a large part of it and quite dusty in areas on lap 2

Second lap was better once a heap of bikes had been over it, couple of little steep hill climbs a few people seemed to struggle with

I'd done bits of it on another ride which started in a different area on the Big Block Dr143 but I remembered a couple of the hill climbs

Met a guy there I went to school with, he was doing it on a 1980 XR500, stalled and flooded it on the side of a hill and said he was fucked trying to start it

I saw the XR500, it looked pretty tidy. I agree with you, not an interesting track apart from those niggly rocky climbs.

I told to him a bike like that is good up until you're dropped it, flooded it and cant start the cunt on the side of the hill, he said "did you ride past me when I did that and was trying to start it, I was fucked"

Yeah that's a bit odd. Maybe for the gas mileage?

I had an xr250 back in the day (my PE175 was stolen) very much like the 500. Except gutless.

Tried riding it off road but 17yr old skinny arse me just got frightened.

Guilty as charged....but when you have a geared down xtrainer tapped at about 60 odd kms and Mr Streeter comes by on his WR450F at over twice that speed........

Then gear it up. Or better yet put the Fatty pie on it. No steenking 4 stroke will shame you.

It'll be the rider. Hate those guys.

Totora Valley trail ride down at Pleasant Point this Sunday. Always an excellent ride. Usually muddy but could be quite dry this year.

Considering it, however the Friday after I leave for a Melbourne - Cairns return ADV bike trip and there's still a little bit needed around doing that so it'll be later in the week before I know

Our local ride posted up 2 weeks ago is now canceled. Logging or some shit I dont care about. I wanted out on the dirtbike this weekend.

Still we had a Trial on a property last week where he had practice pipes and obstacles in front paddock then a hilly area with a bunch of sections. Amazing what people have dedicated to bikes.
