Pumice type soil drains real good so ok when rains and treats these great berms as it is pushed out of that way.

Some areas are a dark dark brown muddy gloopy stuff.

Yeah it's been revalved and re-spring which wildly improved it.

But was blowing through quicker so cranked up compression a couple of clicks the day before.

Ight finish clean and pop spring off to stroke it and see if I can detect a loss of oil then pop it in for service.

What Sachs shock? Off a std RR bike?

That was on lap one, it did get a bit worse and that soft soil got deeper and sapped the power, took both the Beta and IT200 but rode the IT all day, did 2 laps plus novice loop, it was a pretty good day out but following other bikes the dust was a problem in some areas

I was in Taupo on the 690 and saw a lot of bikes, it's on the list for next year, we were on a hilly bush property with private tracks having a play there instead

Pretty spendy? Why did you change? Failure or wanting improvement?

Omihi Trail ride 9/11. Weather was excellent. The organizers used the inland route with 3 enduros. Ground was hard and dry with slippery green grass. The main course was steep but no dramas. The 2 enduros I did were excellent, very steep downhills and hill climbs. The drama was of my own making. I had a Shinko 525 cheater on the rear and I learned that gummys simply dont work on hard grassy downhills, thick dusty trails or tussock! I just had to breathe on the rear brake for it to lock up. Lesson learned! For that reason I did not enjoy it. The coastal Omihi ride is streets ahead of this venue imho.

Hard rocky terrain is where they shine, MT Greenland for example, I've run the Bridgestone E50 Extreme, it was ok for normal use but excellent going in there, normal trail rides I only ran it because I was too lazy to change it back
