No but you're probably getting confused between age and size by the relative youth of the riders grandad.

Went to the Peaks ride today. Not our favorite ride. Probably the steepest ride on the calendar. Weather was mint. Enduro 1 was super steep and shaley on the way up. Even steeper on the way down! Very pleased I managed to ride almost all of it, with some sensible bulldogging as needed...
I missed the turnoff to Enduro 2, which was lucky for me as it was super steep downhill. My mate did it and had a bad fall while bulldogging, leading to a buggered shoulder and the end of his day. Enduro 3 was hard enough when I did it 2 years ago, but no, Grenville made it tougher yet. Very steep uphills but I muddled through. Then a long slog on the main track, punctuated with a nasty double hill climb. A bit hard on newer riders I thought.
Enduro 4 was new, a hill near the car park. VERY slippery wet grass and off camber mud. Spent a bit of time in horizontal reflection before working my way to the top and down the other side. Just the one loop today, defo getting old....

Did Berm Buster. Must be the best organised event in country .

Loamy soil or volcanic. Just great to ride with 3 main tracks with lots of graded breakouts from 1 to 5 and a few new ones for Sunday.

The loam soil tracks in particular are soft and move but also provide traction and make berms. But tye volcanic ones through new pines are great too.
