    Bobber build

    Hey all,

I'm soon to begin a Bobber build from either a GN250 or Virago 250, after my partner uses it for her Learners. Aesthetically I'd like to make it a hard tail but am concerned about the feasibility of that. Does anyone have any experience either way? How would a build like that hold up to the stresses? Oh, a very important note .. I live in Christchurch aka "Muntedville" and there's no telling how long, if ever, before the roads become tolerable.

    Thanks in advance.

There are few on here that have used a GN as a base for a bobber / cafe racer / pile of shit fun toy ( myself included )
I was going to hardtail mine but could not be fucked with the hassle of certs & getting welds x-rayed so in turn I have decided that I will pull the rear shocks & replace them with a box tube that is 50mm lower than the struts .. has same effect & can be swapped out for WOF time .

    I have an idea.

I have decided to unhook the telelever on the 1200RT, it gives the steering a relaxed feel.

Now, just having to decide if the method used was worth the trouble. Fire worked well, but is a little messy.

So that's what a 'bobber' is and there's me thinking that it was some form of motorbike.

The ' matt ' black looks okay but, I would like to see a bit of chrome on it.
