    Getting a r6 with a restricted?

Hey guys just wondering how bad of an idea is it to get a yamaha r6 while still riding on a restricted license. I'm not asking about riding it just if i get pulled over by a cop?

If you get pulled up then i think its a $400 dollar fine for wrong class of license not to mention if you have an accident the insurance won't cover you due to the fact that legally you should'nt have been on the bike in the first place.

Don't pull over if you don't want to get an infringement notice. But don't do a runner either unless you're sure you can safely get away with it.

Turns into a high speed chase.

There's not much "chase" to begin with if you get away quickly enough to disappear from sight within a few seconds. It generally works better if you have a big head start, but first weigh up the risks. It's usually better to just pull over.

I'm on my learners and ride an R6, had it a year and done quote a few kays, yet to find out what happens when I get pulled up on it, if you're not being a dick you're not likely to be pulled over and usually they don't seem to check bike licenses at RBT checkpoints.

The biggest thing would be whether you have the skill to ride it (definitely not a good choice for a first bike) and the self control to keep the speed down

It becomes a bigger issue should you have a crash on it while still on your R. It's pretty easy to ride outside your restrictions and not get pulled up on it by the popo, but should the expected happen and you have a crash, better hope that it's either not your fault, or the other person has insurance :P

The question you should ask is, if I have a crash, can I afford to pay to fix that lambo I just hit?

Must be a trusting lot down your way mate, they ask to see your license every time you get pulled into an RBT stop up here.

Mind you the odds of getting pulled over for just a license check is pretty much non existent around here unless you do some thing stupid enough to attract them in the first place.

I rode and drove for 5 years without a license and never had an issue with the cops because I simply never gave them cause.

In fact I reckon everybody should do a couple of years without a license because it makes you bloody carefull and the lesson seems to stay with you.

At lest it did with me.
