Hit a new Mercedez, VW or Audi (there's plenty of these around, many with absent minded drivers behind the wheel) and you'd have a pretty damn big repair bill hanging over your head. A big repair bill isn't as bad as it could be, though. What if you were to, for arguments take, hit a pedestrian or cyclist in the crossfire and injure them? Sure, you can ride for years and not be pulled over or crash but all it takes is once. It all depends on how much you want to take the risk. A fresh restricted rider on an R6? Doubt he'll be riding it like a grandma...
The lambo was a bit of hyperbole to illustrate a point my illiterate and deliberately obtuse friend.
I was hit by a car on my bike a few weeks back now. I didn't have insurance at the time as it was a new bike. Fortunately, it wasn't my fault, and the lady had full coverage.
However, the point still stands. If you're riding your r6 while on your restricted, you cause a collision, and it's your fault, can you afford it? The damage to my bike after a low speed (~20kPH) slide was $4,000. And that's because it had aftermarket fairings and bits on it. If it had been OEM would have been well in excess of $6,000. And that doesn't cover whatever it cost the lady to fix her car.
Both vehicles were barely damaged. Now, imagine you cause a collision where your r6 is written off, and you've severely damaged somebodies car. It isn't going to take an awful lot to start reaching stupid figures in excess of $30,000.
So to rephrase it for mr literal over there, if you run your r6 up the back of somebodies toyota corolla, can you afford to fix/write off both vehicles?![]()
Yes, try Germany. You just need to take about 14 hours theory lessons and then the theory test, followed by 30-40 hours riding lessons and a practical test. But that would probably result in too much skill to work with your suicide plan. And you seem to be in such a hurry, too...

Yeaaaah no. There's a number of reasons why that's a dumb idea, but I can't be bothered to articulate. Just wait it out, you seem far too trigger happy for your own good. Riding safe has a lot to do with patience and self control - two virtues that you seem to be lacking right about now. May I ask what bike you used to ride?
If I wrote off my R6 and severely damaged a car I would probably be more concerned in my physical state than my financial state, $30k + hospital bills + unable to work = me bankrupt anyway so it really doesn't matter if it's a Corolla or a Lambo.
Plus I live in Christchurch so you're crazy if you're driving a Lambo or the like on our roads
FFS, is everyone on here bloody nana's who never do anything wrong and travel the open roads at 99.9 km/h just so they don't break the law, yeah its probably not a god idea for him to get a r6 on a restricted if he has only just learnt to ride, but maybe he been riding for years but only just decided to get his bike liscence, who cares, if he wants to get an r6 and become a statistic then its his choice.
na na if ya hit a lambo then just go to court and say ya got no money and pay it off at 10bucks for the rest of ya life lol......![]()
meh. Had 3 cars before a learners to drive em. Was the DD, irrespective of how wasted i was, im just that fucking good.
Had as many bikes, somewhere inbetwixt, i stopped giving a fuck about teh government.
So i guess a big thanks to all you legal fags, for if/when i bin it into a lambo, ill put it on your democratic socially responsible tab.
