I bought a YZF600 whilst on my restricted and rode it, just never gave the cops a reason to have a look at me.

    Dear OP, answer this question:

    What will you regret more?
    a) Getting a sensible LAMS bike cause Mr. "I-Am-The-Law" said so OR
    b) Buying the bike you've always dreamed of, wetted bed for, and wanted, accepting the risk of consequences.

Really, there is no "correct" answer. Both have ups and downs. It's just sometimes you got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em,
Know when to walk away and know when to run.

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

    Grammatical question.

    Is it 'a R6' or 'an R6'?

    A R6 just sounds wrong... sounds like I'm saying "uh-uh 6".

To OP... insurance... what if (insert thieving and crashing etc)?

Will any insurer cover you to ride illegally? Say you hit a dog and crash, total write off. An insurer will look and see: warrant, yup. Warrantable condition? Yip. rider licenced? nope. claim denied.

He said he's gonna wait to get his full from south africa and transfer it.

    "An R6" is correct.

    "A Yamaha R6" would work.

    "A R6" doesn't.

Go for it dude, get the R6...if you've been riding for a while and think you can handle the bike then by all means! Get it......I've been riding since I was 14 years old, now 31, bought a 1200 on my learners, never hassled by the police, just ride safe and you will be sweet! Cha-Hoo!
