Which 600 for track? possible racing

Just looking around at possibilties at the moment. I may be buying a 600 and would like opinions of other track only riders/ racers about various models and availability of parts, fairings, upgrades etc here in NZ. And also common issues with them.

Im looking at probably a 05- 08 model ish.

Either 675( which I quite fancy but parts may be tricky?), R6, Zx6r, GSXR, CBR????. Have to be under 10K.

Suzukis seems to be very popular here for some reason?

    Thanks

R6s-06 on appear to be the weapon of choice. However most modern 600s will do just fine. I use a k6 GSXR 600 and love it. Track bikes are easy-buy one and just add money!! Aftermarket parts are easy to source and specialists such as RT are always there to help. Choose the brand that you like and or fits you best.

They are all good. R6 - would be my choice.... even in stock form it is a great track bike. Just remember they remade the tank I forget exactly when 2008 maybe.... so that there is less chance of the R6 BBQ if it slides on pavement. Not sure if tanks are interchangeable between years.

Daytona 675 is a great bike, but has drawbacks as a race bike when you start going quick, geometry flaws, flaws in the oil delivery system, and a big lack of top end against the UJM 600's. Biggest asset is really strong drive out if you set up right going in, and outstanding on the brakes. Parts are plentifull and not too expensive if you know where to look.

Yamaha R6 is great as a race bike straight out of the box once the rear is properly sorted, but has to be ridden really hard to get the best out of them, they really need to be howling all the time to deliver, but if you plan on being at the pointy end, best 600.

The Honda, Kawasaki and the Suzuki are all better at fitting a wider range of riders and not being as difficult to either nana about, or go flat out. The Suzuki offers the best range of parts supply, and go fast mods information, and with lots of race and track bikes around, you can get help more readily. The Suzuki has a deserved reputation for reliability too.
