Only a matter of time with all the blind corners and people riding at silly speeds.
I think kezzafish had a head on up there.
Yeah I won't ride uncontrolled areas anymore for that reason. I have a few too many close calls as a kid riding in open access forests and the like (had even less braincells back then).
Anyways, hope the guys involved get through ok!
Farkin quads
I won't ride there in the weekend because of this sort of thing - only midweek
Ratshit for all involved. There are a couple of places I wont ride down here on the weekends if there are too many trailers parked up, I have seen a couple of guys get airlifted out after meeting in the wrong spot. Hope these fellas pull through ok.
For a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him.Keep an open mind, just dont let your brains fall out.

No I didn't see this one happen but the news article said a quad and a bike were involved which is why I said farkin quads. They aren't real bikes and are only good for hunting or farms.
What I based it on is several hairy moments in the Akatarawas meeting quads around blind corners where they don't get out of the way cos they've got two wheels too many. That is why I said I don't go in there weekends any more. Maybe you do in which case we will never meet so everyone's happy.
Do you even ride trailbikes or are you another road rider who thinks he knows what offroad is like? Here in the dirt section we get that quite a bit
Fuck quads, fuck em sideways, fuck em twelve ways to Sunday and
Jelly wrestler; fuck you too.
Quads have as much right to be there as the rest of us.
Having said that they're a fucking sight harder to miss when you come across one. Most oncoming bikes seem to know the generally accepted rules, (although I've seen the odd idiot up there), but almost every time I've met an oncoming quad there's drama.
The obvious fix is to groom the rock garden a bit and turn the main trail into a one-way circuit. Trouble is it's a reserve, so we're more likely to get banned from it than get any actual work done.
Now that I think about it, though, the Karapoti classic sees thousands spent on trail grooming every year....
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon
