Whats the best way to clean out a 2 stroke pipe?
My bikes always run rich up to now and the muffler was very clogged. What the best way to clean out the Pro Circuit header pipe.
And while were at it what the best way to clean up the outside of it?

gas torch and burn it out, but you want to do it outside, it produces a shit load of smoke
does not need to be red hot, you burn it out from the inside,
its the only way i have seen it done,
Have tried lots of methods, burning, caustic soda, but in the end it's quicker and a lot more successful to just cut the thing in half clean it and weld it back together .
If you have access to an oxygen tank, you can use this method.
I've seen it done with oxy-acetylene.
Start the torch and get a blue flame, start heating up the engine end exhaust flange until the inside carbon starts burning, then turn of the acetylene and leave just the oxygen running. The oxygen allows the carbon inside the pipe to continue burning by itself, if its working as it should, you should see a red ring around the outside of the pipe where the carbon is burning. The ring will work its way down the pipe and eventually burn off all the crap inside the pipe.
we may just go where no ones been
LOL, Yeah did this heaps in the 70's when I had strokers.. makes a hell of a mess...smoke for milesUsed to take mine out in the country somewhere so it didn't piss the neighbours off too much or attract the attention of the local firey's. Can't do it with chromed road-bike exhausts though...roots the chrome

Here ya go.......
gas torch holmes
I threw my old IT175 pipe on the 44 g drum bonfire to burn mine out. Very bad idea, there was 4 stroke oil in it as some idiot thought that would work on a 2 stroke. The huge plume of oil cloud could be seen for miles in the middle of summer when there was a fire ban in our rural area..........
LOL!
Gettin mine done soon, then sandblasted, then painted. Apparently said pipe cleaner has a very big gas bottle attached to a nozzle the size of a wok burner. Should really try & be there for the de-carboning of my spannie. He goes by the moniker of "Jet engine Geoff".
Manopausal.
