Start the torch and get a blue flame, start heating up the engine end exhaust flange until the inside carbon starts burning, then turn of the acetylene and leave just the oxygen running.

Yep most effective and effortless way. Do it at night or somewhere semi-rural so as not to freak out the neighbours. Can take anywhere up to 30 mins depending on how much there is.
