.....and here I was thinking you chose a 1970's fluoresce gloop lamp as a screen name![]()
Been on my watch list since the day it was listed
Now if lotto plays nicely tonight I could nab that, wave some coin at the prick that teases me with SFC1000 that visits the place down the roadI'd be happy

I want it.
Some people are only alive because it is illegal to shoot them.
I think he paid me around 7k for it.

ooh hes got all ahhtistic with the first extreme close up shot. Very nice bike, but it cracks me up that they never ground off the bar mounts & sandblasted the top triple clamps from the factory.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.
Um yeah but all they had to do was a quick mod

where's the fun in that? remember they're wops building these things, they got to have odd eccentric quirks
It's the internal engineering that sets Laverdas heads & shoulders above the rest of the Italians![]()
Remember a certain english mag testing a Jota in 1980-81 did nearly 40 miles without a drop of oil in the engine...got it filled up & still did a full road test, any other bike would've blown itself to bits. I even know personally of a 1200 that did over 100kms to get home with all it's rings completely destroyed & most the journey home was @ 120kmh two-up![]()
You realise that this bike is an SF 750 not an SFC? I left the triple clamp as was, even though I could have modified it. Was on the look out for a replacement but nothing eventuated. This particular bike was probably an italian police bike before being imported to blighty where it was given a "Q" reg, which means that it was of unsure origin. It was blue then repainted black then I painted it red.
Edit, it appears, on googling , that the SFC did have the same top clamp! Haha, I learnt something today! Some seem to have the Jota bars fitted, others have fittings attached etc.
Just as well I left it alone then!

The road going 750 SFC is the race replica of Sergio di Angiolini's SFC endurance racer......basically like comparing a 500 Alpino to a 500 Montjuich ones the base bike & the others the factory hotrod though the Montjuich was a commemorative model of Sergio's domination of endurance racing in the early 70s and especially at the Montjuich circuit in Barcelona
Oops ahh nope I didn't I just saw the fairing. I read the rest of your post but I won't now claim to be an expert on the things despite greedily absorbing everything I've read about them for years. I've only seen one 750 in the flesh & I was told it was a SFC, but it was rpetty rough & it probably wasn't. Was painted a dark grey too. Possibly with a brush.

Fuck it I would have swapped one of my Vincents for that, with cash of course
