    TV2 The Long Way Round

sometime at the begining of next month there is a new doco.
Ewan McGreggor and friend oops forgot his name looking at doing a RIDE from london to new york travelleing through many countries.
brilliant doco. from the beginning, logistics behind it, organisation, to the bikes they will be riding. the trips through the countries border patrols to accidents. as well as some awe inspiring scenery.
definately worth a watch. if ya wanna know more check it out. it is good.

About time there's something worth watching. Hopefully it'll be the new series (like showing on UK tv now) - 10 episodes (dvd is 7 + extra footage).
Got the book & had to buy the dvd (had no idea who either of those guys were beforehand).
If you've read the book, the one thing that blew me away was the fact that the dr is so negative on the trip - Russ came across in the book as negative.
Yay to tvnz (I was sure Prime would grab it - doh).

Umm.... I'm pretty sure it starts next Wednesday at 1030 on TV2. Almost certain I saw that in today's Herald supplement (E.G)

yeah TV2 missed a trick by putting it on so late, it got huge ratings in the UK and the DVD has gone platinium in its first week of release. Well worth a look, a bit of a feature length for BMW though

Yeah, apparently the first epi is about collecting the gear for the trip, planning, and choosing which motorcycles to take. I can imagine its going to be:
"Well gee whiz Charlie I guess we should take the Beemer...".
"We kinda have to Ewan, its in our contracts...".
