sounds fantastic. Meeting up somewhere else first sounds like the goods too. Get plenty of noise for the punters

yep, so where are we meeting people? where is fairly central for a 30min buffer time only 20-30mins from st lukes, jsut so we can all gather and arrive together.

Somewhere very close would be the large carpark off Great North Road opposite Western Springs Park.

I was also thinking about the Westgate centre at the end of the Northwestern motorway - makes for a nice ride into St Lukes. Also a nice ride out there from the city, or upper harbour drive for the shore dwellers.

Or if a less motorway-esqe route might be nice then maybe Cornwall park at the base of One Tree Hill, or the showgrounds would be a nice starting point?

I guess we want to arrive at least 15-20 minutes before the screening time to allow for organising and staunch posing. So, we should aim to all be at the launch point with good time to spare.

And, if you miss the launch, you know where we're going, you can catch up or take a sneaky shortcut and beat everyone there...

For what it's worth, my background in PR and television tells me that if this is a slow news day (which it may well be) that the TV news would be interested in it for a little "and also today..." story at the end of the 6pm. For that, it's worth giving a quick phone call to the news desk the day before and just saying "hey, there's this little event thing that might make a nice little piece".

    That's my $0.02.

Hey guys just an update as I haven't had too many confirmed bookings that:

"In order to build numbers everybody who can confirm that they will be coming should send me a PM, this should also include any other people you will be taking. You should confirm to me by Wednesday 28th Janurary night latest!!"

As for the meeting place it will be outside motomail.. This will be confirmed as soon as the session times are confirmed. Till then lets work on a place to ride out to afterward.

I was watching the preview and making of this. My god - there is some of the worst CG EVER seen in this movie. As for riding the bike along the top of the train - come on.....

Why can't they just rely on the skills of riders rather than ramp things up with CG....

How can you tell what is CG and what isn't . . . . .

Anyway I will appreciate the movie for what it is - gratuitous

You can tell if you look closely at the detail (e.g. granularity - CG generally looks sharper than real images or just by the improbability of the camera movement e.g. 360 deg panning around a bike on a train). Not that I'm a techie geek or anything...

The stunts looked a bit like the ones in MI2 - i.e. sportbikes doing wheelies and stoppies in the dirt.
Slob by name, not by nature..

    Count us in.

Just caught up on this, it sounds awesome. I'll be in for Sat 31st and so will my partner (Death_inc). I think we should be at the theatre more than 15 mins in advance to allow us time to park up and do the pose thing. We're keen to meet at motomail just need to give us a time. We all need to get behind anything that promotes motorcycling in NZ and this website of course. Will send a PM to confirm. Will also pass this on to 3 other bike mates we have and let you know if they can make it too. We're not fussed where we ride afterwards but the coromandel sounds a little far for an afternoon ride. What about ridin the back road from Tuakau to Ngaruawahia? And I'm all for TV Promo too!!!!! About time we showed people we're not ALL a bunch of hoodlooms, and this is an awesome social sport/hobby/pass time.

If you wanted it to be a publicity stunt, wouldn't it be better if you picked a theatre were you could park your bikes outside in front of the movie theatre, instead of hidden away in the parking building.
