Suzuki recall in the UK, maybe here?

I just read this and thought Id post it just in case. Im not a suzuki owner and I am not sure if it affects bikes sold here or not. According to MCN UK Suzuki are recalling all GSXR600, 750 and 1000's from 2004 onwards for a free repair/mod on the front brake calipers at a suzuki dealer.

It may be a crock but maybe worth checking out if you own one of those bikes.....

Well done mate, thanks for the info, mate has been telling me for a while now how his 750K5 has developed a spongy feel in his front brake, hopefully this will help him sort it out, cheers

Just had a chat with the local Suzuki dealer, they had not heard anything yet but did say if its happening in the UK it will filter down from Suzuki NZ, this covers the privately bought bikes too, they also said that as normally happens VTNZ will give a list of owners vin numbers and contact them re the recall.

This is true guys, letters have been sent out but if you think your bike may be affected or just want piece of mind, hit up your local Suzuki dealer!

Best get your bike checked out ......oh and its ok, I dont mind posting stuff up if it may stop a biker from being hurt somewhere.

Got my letter last week. Suzuki NZ are waiting for parts from Japan.

my gsxr600 is on the recall list got the letter 2 weeks ago so booked it in to get done. I asked what happens to the master cylinder - dealer said he had to send it back etc which is fair enough was thinking of rebuilding it myself for my bucket. I said I have a k4 master cylinder in my motard which is going spongy as well - BUT THIS WILL NOT BE ON RECALL - unless you have frame number/rego etc to prove its off a GSXR etc they didn't want to know was the answer I got.

I'm booked in, here in Wgton for a 'Master Cyl' change this Tuesday the 26th ! I'd better check they've got them in then ? !

Mmmmmm, my K9 Superbike has always been a bit soft in the lever, no amount of bleeding or fluid changes solved it, been racng it that way for ages and ages, off to talk to Suzuki I guess, shame they keep your old one, make a great spare. The 675 Daytona has the same master, but has never been like that, odd that this would only affect 1 brand when the same supplier has multiple buyers for the same bit of kit

well worth the upgrade to a new master cylinder on k9 1000 onwards has made a big gains in stopping
the 600 was good before and after
