Guidance needed to covert Ducati 848 from track to road.

Hey Lads, I saw this Ducati 848 on Trademe and it really appeals me cos its asking price is around 10k and I dont think I will be able to buy any 848 for that price but its a track bike for now and I've asked the seller and he reckons it can be converted into a proper road bike with no sweat! So I was hoping if you guys could please tell me what will I need to change or add in order to make it road worthy so that I ould get a quote from the motorbike shop and how much will be the approximate cost involved in all of it? Please follow the link below for the add on trademe:

    http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=649490095

And I'm putting the description of add on here as well, it as follows:

On Road Costs: Excluded - additional costs may apply. Learn more
    Style: Sports
    Make: Ducati
    Model: 848 Track/Race
    Engine size: 850cc
    Kilometres: 10,327km
    Year: 2008
Imported 2010 from USA with cosmetic damage. Converted to track/race bike, done 2850 track km. Ultra reliable, well balanced bike, not in use but maintained.

    - Dan Kyle 30 mm offset triple clamps

    - Ohlins steer damper
    - Racetech suspension
    - Microtec ECU with maps
    - Starlane GPS laptimer (good kit)

    Inspection welcome

The reason I seek you help is because I'm not very technical with the bikes so I wont have much of the knowledge in asking the motorbike shop for these and I might get ripped off due to this . I'm working my ass off to buy a bike ( saved up around 7 k so far ) like this because riding is my passion ever since I was 10 years old and this will be my first upgrade from a 250cc that I currently ride. So please please help me on this. Thanking you all in advance.

    Regards,
    Pratik.

Unless its been imported as a complete and running bike with all the export and import docs, and your not mechanically inclined I'd give it a miss.
Ask the seller what docs he has and if its been registered here.
DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.

You'd have to really fucking want an 848 specifically for it to be worthwhile.

$10k will buy a lot of seriously nice bikes out there that won't require all the extra hassle.

    this part here

is probably going to mean it isnt worth the hassle. if it had previously been registered here in NZ, then its a fairly easy process, but havig come from the states, and having come damaged, there will be more hoops and shit to jump through.

Id say 10k buys a lot of bike, keep looking unless you really want a project
