Just don't get too friendly ... he might want to show up on a Hyosung, park next to your delicate little 'busa and talk to you ..

That still is way too much money for the bike. After re-registering it and fixing it up, you wouldn't be much better off than buying a road legal one that isn't fucked, and there's also the cost of time to fuck around with it and of course the risk of buying a bike that could have more damage.

Yeah I gave him some rep for that, Nice Sassin'

Not much taste though, the NVs, well I borrowed one in the 90s while my bike was being fixed & had it for a month. I can report they have absolutely no character. Certainly was glad to have it & it was just fine as a bike to ride around on with no vices. I mean if someone offered you a go on theirs you wouldn't even look up.

At the end of the day people will pay what they are prepared to. I'd have to think they can't have done thier sums if they thought they were going to make any money unless they are doing the labour as a charitable entity to return bikes to the road.

and as for the Mantra, well they look as bad in real life. I think I'd rather have a first Multistrada, except they are hideous, maybe I'd rather have the Mantra, no the Multistrada, no Syphilis.

I think a 250 makes a pretty good learner bike, as well as a great commuter/around town bike. May not tick all the items on the rabid litre sports bike riders list, but there are some learner riders who will feel much more comfortable on a lighter bike, maybe they don't do much road riding where there's a need to pass at the open speed limit. I'm thankful I did 20 months on a 250 learner cruiser.

    I don’t see any.

There’s plenty of guys that I like, but I certainly don’t want to homo any of them. Don’t you have any platonic friends?

I think you guys are suffering textbook projection if you can read this thread & think that.

I tend to agree with him, the second hand bike market is out of whack.
People pay good money for sub par bikes, when bigger and better bikes, which are often learner legal, get less.

One thing that makes me laugh is that certain bikes, like Yamaha Scorpios, are sold second hand for the same money you can buy one absolutely new with a warranty.

If you're gonna spend say $4k on some 250 that has seen 50km, and is 15 years old, why dont you spend a little more, and get a new 300cc ninja, or CBR500R, with warranty.

Thing is, Scorpos are a stain on Yamaha's name if you look at the build quality. I like the concept, but leave one outside & they look like they are reverting to base elements in short order. I guess at that end they make em as cheap as pos.

I see your point, but for alot of people, going the extra 6k, from 4k up to the cost of a new 300 ninja for 10k, isnt just a little extra!
plus, there are an awful lot of people out there who still have no idea about the learner stuff that is now legal. Have spoken to alot of motorcyclists who didnt even know, and as for non riders that are only thinking about it, unless the really look into it, how would they know until/unless they join a forum
