I got snapped not too long ago at 51 over. The cop booked me at 49 over cause he said I wasn't riding dangerously. Still gave me a $600 fine. Alls fair in love and cop avoidance. I was going to spend that $600 on a radar detector.

Speeding is stupid and immature and he should have gotten a life time suspension for it!

Would you expect a life time suspension for doing that speed?

speeding doesnt kill people. People who can't drive/ride kill people.

Don't denying that. But how much experience had this guy had if he is still on his learners. Yes, he may have, MAY HAVE, had years on the track or the dirt but the road with cages around is a totally different scenario. I know all the args about 250 pocket rockets and the unfair 70 km limit for learners and yes I agree these need to be addressed sooner rather than later but heh in my small count 4 laws broken adds up!!! IMHO

Good to see the cops aren't letting the cops off, top marks to that HP officer even though he might get some flak from some other officers.

In hindsight though the cop who got pulled was prolly one of the few cops that would pull a bike for speeding and let em off with a warning more than often, being a biker himself. But yeah, if ya get caught you pay, no way around that.
I think that you have to be charged with dangerous driving to get a 6 month disqualification. Maybe Snr Const Redman only charged him with excessive speed.

And anyway, the court makes the penalty, not the Police officer.

He would most likely have been charged with exceeding 100kph. Because the speed was more than 50kph over the posted limit the cop could not deal with it by way of an instant fine, meaning that the offending driver had to be summonsed to court. As best as I can recall disqualification for exceeding 100kph is discretionary, (up to the court to decide), where as other more serious offences, (drink driving etc) have mandatory minimum disqualification periods.
