There's a couple of places we've been talking about this for several weeks but I guess since it was in other pre existing threads or other forums altogether (including FB and Eddies ADV forum) it is still news to some here on KB.
Rainbow was supposed to open at the same time but to date the road is impassable thus still closed due to washouts and slips... repairs are said to be in progress.

I ll be in hanmer fri and sat this weekend coming and phoned doc to ask if the rainbow is open...she said no and will open in december so looks like edwards and malings pass tracks and the molesworth.....any one know any different ref access to rainbow all info welcome...any suggestions to other rides in the area?

That info is the same as the Rainbow stations manager has on their own website though they do not give an eta on the repair completion.

Road Closed
The road remains closed and is currently being repaired following extensive damage from recent rain storms. We will update this page when we know when the road will re open.

You want company? I have another free/unsupervised weekend... and a new tent on the way since last weekend.
Don't think there is much else in that area until you get out the top ends and start back in to the Nelson guys rides or Porika etc. back toward Murchison.
