Dammit Slingshot. Now you've gone and shown them just how good the 'takas are - now they'll all be down here....

    Truly excellent video.

Can you post a couple more of the later parts. The last overtaking lane on the south side where the front always seems to lift just as you go left-to-right, perhaps?

oh, and we can do without the crazy frog too.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Your film ran out just before what I reckon is the most technical of the corners on the ascent that side. I think I have the lines sussed through those and was hanging on anxiously waiting to see how you did it...

Problem is I got stuck behind that car towing the trailer (that's why I ended the clip).

I'm just capturing the whole tape at the moment and I'll pick out some other sections to post.

If the weather is good this weekend I'll do some more, hopefully following another bike.
I've got about 300Mb of space you could use to host the file.

I'd be interested to know what gear you used. The picture quality was very good.

Well done Slinsshot, the end result is pretty sweet, nice and clear, not too much vibration at all, good job i say.
Now get someone to follow as well, that looks the bizzo, you doing the Manfeild on the 4th?

All in all it wasn't a great run over the hill (had an arse clenching moment coming down which threw my confidence), I'll get a good run and then get it get it hosted.

The video was taken with a Sony DCR-HC42E camera, it's a fairly standard $1300ish video camera. I've attached a screenshot from the un-compressed AVI file to give you an idea of the actual quality.
From this file I processed it in Windows Movie Maker to a WMV file which was a more manageable size.

I was thinking about heading to the open day at Manfield this weekend but haven't signed up for the 4th (might come up for a look though).

As requested, didn't lift but scrapped the pegs (and rooted my left boot).

I've had another look and I'm stuck behind traffic until (and beyond) that tiny little 100m passing lane.
The two clips cover almost all of the southern ascent where I'm not stuck behind traffic.

I've got an old Sharp viewcam which takes good video but is a bit on the large size now. I was thinking about one of these attached to the viewcam http://www.helmetcamera.com.

This is an option as well http://www.pitposse.com/cameramount.html although I'd worry about losing the camera.

Help. I can not play your video!! When I click on it the player comes on says Buffering 2% playing but nothing happens. Not savvy but trying to learn. Have just bought a new computer XP home with supposedly all the bells and whistles so that I can see all this stuff. Pissed off John.

I have a feeling LooseBruce has a set-up similar to the helmet cam, they're fairly expensive.

The second link: I'm not so sure that I would trust suction cups, I've seen similar mounts that bolt onto the petrol filler surround which is going to be my next little project.

    Bloody impressive...

I have to say I'm TOTALLY impressed by this and itching to have a go myself. I have a spare (kinda munted) fairing blade for the Guzzi so could mount a camera on top of the forks I recon and cut a hole in the screen...

But I do like the down low effect, looks faster.
