    Thumbs up

How much of a market would there be for them? If people are really keen, I create and duplicate DVD's as a business. We could have submissions like funniest home videos, assemble a mad disc and sell it for nicks. Could be different sections such as the nads job on XSTV. For the hoot of it of course, not a profit operation.
How many would be keen? Log your interest here!...

There is that element of the risk of encouraging people to do really stupid or "illegal" things of course. I'm not advocating that kind of behaviour...

I rode over there in the weekend but the battery died half way along and the footage I got was fairly average. At some stage I'll get a decent run over there.

Paekak hill is the most amazing road on the planet. End. Of. Story. The view from the northern side is amazing, good road surface, not a whole lot of traffic.

Having said that, on a bike, the Rimutakas are probably more fun. Paekak went hard in my old MR2.

I don't miss it all that much.

Only got the first vid as I'm at my parents on (poos!) dialup. Will get the others when I get home. Looks good tho - good effort to deaden the vibrations!!

I went on that road on
the very first day after buying
my bike, and my wife (gf at the time) on the back. Good training!
It's definitely very narrow, comparing with other major roads. The top also is very exposed and offers no side barriers, and it's very steep!
Beautiful road though, I love the kapiti coast.
Unbelievable that people use it to commute, to avoid the traffic in Mana. Maybe less now that they have upgraded the roundabout and made special one way lanes.

If I manage to convince my wife, we'll take a footage of the Pauatahanui inlet. I ride or drive along it every day. The scenery is amazing, and the curves are fun. The limit is 70kph, and in a couple of corners is quite challenging to keep that speed (where signs suggest 30...)
Something I've noticed is also that when the wind blows, my helmet ends up full of salt... so that I need to wash it every day!

Talking about narrow twisty roads, do you know Airlie road from Plimmerton to SH1? it's a country road and sometimes I find it hard to keep the balance, especially with two people on and if I let the engine go too low.

Agreed, but for cagers on the wrong side of the road, gravel and diesel spills. The Goat Track of Death rocks! In every sense...

Aye, I did it on the second day after buying a bike in NZ. It was dark, very dark!

when i got to the bottom i was a bit directionally embarrassed so turned right, then stopped in paraparam and bought a map. then promptly set off to wellington. In Otaki I got the map out again, turned round and eventually made it home....

he he, it's not that hard, at least when the northerly is blowing (most of the time). Just follow the wind, and save petrol

My problem instead is that even if I've been here for 2 years, still I can be distracted and take the wrong side of the road.
That happened last month, I was pissed off because the eftpos at the petrol station wasn't working and rode away while thinking about the shortest way to get to the pak'n'save petrol station. I took the right side of the road quite fast until a car came in front of me and I suddenly realised I was wrong.
I was sure to hit it, but luckily we stopped both one meter before. I couldn't say I'm sorry enough times! There was a child in the front sit and I'm sure it wouldn't have been very nice for them if I had crashed the car windscreen with my helmet. Don't want to think about it too much, it's too easy to do stupid things.

Then I've discovered that at Mobil they turn off the eftpos if they can't see you, e.g. if you have your helmet on. But f**k, that's why I go to an automatic station: not to have to take my helmet off and save time.
At the Pak'n'Save station they then complained that I was putting petrol in the tank without getting off the bike. And I had to explain to the manager that if you don't have a center stand, that's the best way to fill it completely!!
