Hidden speed camera live in Auckland

The New Zealand government and local councils are some of the most dishonest in the world. A bold statement I know.

    Covert speed vehicle 1
    Covert speed vehicle 2
    Covert speed vehicle 3
    Covert speed vehicle 4

Why do the Police have unmarked Police cars? They are all over the country and you can spot them… they either have extra aerials or the Police offices wear their hats. Or you may see one zoom past you. But why do the Police use unmarked cars? What does this say to the citizen? There is absolutely no need whatsoever for a uniformed officer of the law to drive an unmarked Police car during his duty unless in an emergency. The Police are there to help and support us the TAX payer / citizen not covertly do as they want. They are 100% accountable for their actions. So which member of the political system breaks the citizen charter?

So why do the Police and council endorse unmarked Police Speed camera vehicles on the road which are 100% LIVE. What does that say to you and I as citizens that they act covertly thus not telling us the TAX payer and Citizen what they are doing and why. I refer to the word COVERT (not openly acknowledged or displayed.) These vehicle are traps, dishonest and merely a dishonest form a taxation. Why? Speed cameras bagged over 700,000 speeding drivers a year. Fines over $50 million were issued last year. Now if you have been caught speeding by a Police officer you get demerit points… If the camera is FIXED you get Demerit points however if the camera is in a vehicle you don! What is the point having any marked Police cars? They are for our benefit as citizens – ok? So what is the point in having signs on the road? We should clearly have speed warning signs in all areas that warrant them, near schools, in dangerous locations etc. So why did the grubby dishonest politicians allow the Police Force to TAX us? To deceive us? To act suspiciously to us.

The attached pictures are of a new breed vehicle that the Police and Local council allow in order to gather revenue… they turn up park the vehicle and walk away… you can’t even see inside. This is one of the most dishonest things I have witnessed from the Police force and local government.

If you're speeding around there you deserve a ticket, or would you rather run over a kid? =P

If you're sure it's a camera vehicle and that there's no one inside, then slash the tyres or smash it up. FTP.

If it's really all about safety and not revenue, then why doesn't the government take driver training and licensing much more seriously, rather than allow incompetent fools who can't even drive properly to teach the next generation of drivers? Why don't they set up hidden cameras to catch people overtaking on the wrong side of the road around blind corners, and then fuck them over big time in the courts for attempted manslaughter? A car is a far more dangerous weapon than a gun, so why are the penalties for reckless use of a firearm so much more serious than doing something equally, or more dangerous in a car?

Maybe the cop is visiting a bit of crumpet around the corner...

This has to be a windup surely... unmarked cameras and patrol cars are nothing new.
Seen one of the new "high visibility" vans at Whirinaki, was quite dirty and almost mistook it for a tradesmans van...

There's a foolproof way to avoid these bastards...

    Don't speed.

Otherwise, you pays your money and you takes your chances. Just be glad they don't have mandatory GPS trackers directly linked to your credit card. The technology is there already.

I complained to the authorities and police about the speed cameras parked ON passing lanes...... they said they are there in the name of road safety and as a deterrent and I countered with ........ "I'm a line-haul truck driver limited to 90km/h and not that easy to pass safely on NZ roads, we come up to a passing lane ... oncoming cars are flashing lights to warn of the 'cop up the road' and hence no one is willing to pass me on the passing lane, where it is safer to do so ..... Then !!!! they are trying to pass me on yellows, short straits, blind corners !!!

My unanswered question was "HOW DOES THE CAMERA ON PASSING LANES HELP IN ROAD SAFETY?"

My view is as a driver of a big rig.... that it is contributing to the carnage on our roads and just a revenue gathering exercise.

Got no decent logical sense out of the police other than they do it for road safety.

There is regularly speed cameras on the 2 passing lanes between Huntly and Ngaruawahia.

Speed cameras on passing lanes SHOULD be illegal and any tickets issued on them also illegal ..... and NO ..... I haven't got a speed camera ticket from them.

Agree completely... all it does is encourage people to pass where it isn't safe, as the odds of a camera are much less.

Makes no sense to me whatsoever

yeh as a previous poster commented they put the camera where they will get dollars not where the real safety issues happen.
aaaahhhhh you never know where there's a camera running nowadays lol they wear them on helmets, in cars, trucks .........I run one in my rig ...... have put several dumb-ass drivers on Facebook's "New Zealand Driving Idiots"and don't get all the ones that start a really dangerous act and back off just in time to avert a tragedy.

i feel if the police were really serious about slowing the public down..............surely ALL their cars........parked up or otherwise......would be marked wouldn't they?........i mean a more visable presence on the road would have to equate to people driving slower wouldn't it?
i know nothing slows me down more than the sight of one of those pesky cars..........not that i ever speed mind you
