So the Sydney Motorcycle and Scooter Show was on

Got there after work and did a rapid walk-around of some seriously nice machinery – and the usual vendors.

    Some highlights:

Australia’s own V8 motorcycle the Barbarian had two bikes on show, the ‘HossStyle’ V8 transverse-mounted sand scoot with some serious tread on that back wheel, and the more standard roadworthy V8 Barbarian single speed cruiser (On Road Cost about 45K AUD basic form).

The Harley stand was very busy and most of the bikes there had lots of metalflake, seems the theme for this year’s models.

Even late in the day the show was busy with lots of visitors but not too many to make moving around difficult.

There was a lineup of nice café racers which clearly are not only well-loved but well-ridden – personal favorite the TS185, one of the bikes I owned Back In The Day (early 80s)…

The Indian stand was attracting a lot of interest and the bikes they had (4x more than the photos show) were much in demand. 2 people in just 5 minutes I was there were whipping out their Plastic to acquire one. The standard of finish on the bikes I saw was excellent.

Yamaha’s Bolt is an equally well designed and constructed entry-level or city-commuter Vtwin. The nice rear end with the minimalist lighting looks good.

The MV Agusta F4 has always had a spectacular rear end. Other nicely designed rear ends were also present.

The blinged-out Harley metalflake theme was even available to rent; or you could pick up a Ural for the rough going, with plenty of carrying capacity.

Then there was the Victory line; if it hadn’t have been for the Indian display the Victory bikes would have attracted more attention.

While not my cup of tea, lots more vendors and magazines and bikes and accessories for the expedition / global tourer / BMW /sports bike / dirt bike / trail bike / commuter bike / scooter people.

A good effort IMO by the organizers and vendors. Pity they closed at 6… lots of us big and little boys could have wandered around for hours more.

Hey RDJ, great report, and excellent photos - quite a job loading them etc huh, so cheers!

The top of the range Indian really appeals, as do the Victory models

The ZX14 looks grouse in white and I see what you mean about the clean lines of the Bolt

I caught a bike show in Milan a few years ago - it's seriously recommended for the bucket list

    Thanks

    Cheers for posting.

Darn I've been a metal flake fan for decades. Nice to see it back.

I like the look of the Indian engine - the rest of it ...... those passenger pegs look like pedals sticking out the side!
