Queensland police raid recreational Vietnam and Veterans Motorcycle Club

Saw this on the Norton forum, they are saying group riding may be under threat. Raiding a club for ex Vietnam Vets, guys in their 60's and 70's.

"Senior officers say that if bikies meet in groups of three or more interstate all police need to do is get some recording of it, such as from a security camera at an airport, restaurant or service station, and if the bikies return to Queensland, they can be arrested and face up to three years in jail"

I find it hard to believe that's actually true. Surely in a civilized country like Aussie they can't do shit like that, or is the country really that fucked? I'm wondering if there's a bit more to it than the article is saying.

It's Queensland. The Police are a bit different up there.

In my day it was "Three or more people for a common purpose" ! Constitutes an unlawful assembly.
Funny enough I was there, one of the first times it was used
    in NZ !!! LOL.

Yeah, they're not on my list of favourite police. The often used phrase "Queensland cops, the best money can buy..." also springs to mind.

In general though, Aussie cops seem to be too "americanised" which certainly doesn't help matters.

If they're going to start hating just because people choose to ride motorcycles as an alternative form of transport to a car, then what's next, arresting people for the colour of their skin?

"No-one was searched, arrested or cautioned during the raid"

Bit like roadside alcohol checks IMHO. Check the status ... all is above board ... everyone moves on.

You run with dogs, expect to get bitten. These guys weren't 'running with dogs' and nothing happened.

True, but these guys weren't on the list of banned organisations and a raid isn't quite like a roadside check.

I suspect in the past you've lived where that happened a lot....
