I agree for Hayabusa, I just test rode one yesterday at Freedom Moto in Palmy and man it was good. They look heavy but when it comes to riding on straight roads or corners they pretty easy to maneuver.

The bike has done 57k so far and it will come fully serviced and with some warranty.

Asking priuce is 10995 but i reckon you cqan easily negotiate around your buidget ( 10 K ) if you pay them upfront in cash.

But if I was you I would just stop fucking around and just get a hayabusa...
    +1 for Hayabusa

I've never ridden a SV but rode Hayabusa yesterday and it was one of the best bike that I've ridden so far..and you can easily touch both your feet on the ground also. Very comfy , you dont have to lean too much, it just gives you a natural riding position so thats pretty neat and it can also carry a passenger if need be with no sweat being one of the most powerful bikes in the world ( 1340 cc )..Give it a thought, you wont regret it and good luck with the sale

Did someone say Ninja- There a tidy Ninja 06' model just advertised yesterday on trademe, it has done 34k and the seller is wanting 8 k for it. Below is the link:

It'd be a good buy if you want, also falls into your budget and you could prolly use the rest of 2k on gear and insurance. Once again good luck with the sale, dont rush and just take your time to decide what you wanna buy.

If you are a Suzuki fan I'd also suggest a GSR750. Mrs Berg has one that she's put 50,000km on in the past two years and its a really nice bike to ride. Been used as a long distance commuter, tourer and weekend scratcher.

fair enough, you want something you like for you.
based on what youve said I would have stuff like the following on my watchlist. (these are just a few from a 2 minute browse on tardme, theres fucking loads of great bikes out there in the 10k bracket, the worlds your oyster!)

I only looked at about 3 pages, but there is, IMO some way better bikes out there than an SV if you have 10 to spend. of course you could get a stock SV and spend the balance on some nice bolt ons I guess . . .

and dont let anyone tell you you cant / shouldnt / dont want to commute on a sportsbike, Ive been commuting on 600 and 1000cc sportbikes for years and never had an issue

If you do end up getting a SV, your first mod should be getting the suspension sorted. Stock suspension on them is pitiful.

Amen to that. Took a mates sv1000 for a blat up 16 once with the stock suspension. After hitting some potholes mid corner, I couldn't tell whether it was cow shit or my own shit covering the back of the bike
