    Debating somewhat similar myself, I reckon it's a fine plan until you get through the year and even better deals start coming up...

    I know prostitution is legal now, but is it an accepted form of payment too?

    Aye. I've seen the wreckage when he eventually catches up waving an interest bill too.

    On the same email just now:

    >>>income tax refund $ 1382.42

    Yay. New portable computer.

    >>> ACC invoices $ 1290.97

    Sigh.

    i havent 'paid' 'income tax' in over a year, and i minimise the GST by trading in drugs and whores.

    and i'm not sure about either of those things, or the quote itself, and it irks me that so many people accept it.

    Unfortunately, if you're in the position of having to pay taxes, you then won't qualify at WINZ for a payment to buy a bike so you can get to work.

    Having spoken to the owner of the bike I want I am a mite less keen than I was. "Oh yeah, the bike has a race motor and no electric OR kick start". I want a road bike and the last thing I want to do is have to push the fucker to get it going. Its probably had the stand bracket sawed off it too so you have to use a pit stand... I forgot to ask the guy.

    not a thing. this is another for the fleet. If I die with the most toys I win, right?

    From the description though it is far more a racer than a cafe racer so maybe not that streetable. Still, if the price is right....

    I've seen a mate sell a lot of toys trying to square up with the Taxman. I think he made the assumption that everything would keep on going swimmingly & it was just timing. But then when things didn't go to plan & the money dried up & tax was owing. All went pearshaped.

    You've put the money aside, its not yours, treat it like a 90s lawyer investing money for his clients and you'll find you can 'borrow' it for your own purposes, but one day fate will tap you on the shoulder & you won't feel as clever.

    I can't afford a new bike either, but I can afford to buy Classic Motorcycle Mechanics mag & dream a little.

    ain't that the truth? I love buying magazines on my tablet computer. I have a zinio account and a magazine that is three months old IF you can get it here is $17, and its like $5 on zinio. I get that Classic Racer mag a bit, and some others if they have articles I want to read.

    Plus my genius plan to divert tax for a while might fall foul of scrutiny from SWMBO.... IF she ever found out about it.

    yes but when you magazine slips out of your hand & falls down the dunny there are always other magazines in the pile to read.
