We have a tablet in the house but I'd have to wrestle it out of the hand of my wife or son. Have thought about it but I reread mags when there is nothing new or have in multiple places like the dunny.
Once tablet has dropped it's guts how do you store the file? It's more wrapped up like a conditional ebook isn't it?

to be honest I have no idea about that. the only magazine I collect is Cycle World because I have that and Cycle magazine going back to 1982. Takes up a shit ton of storage space thats for sure. The rest of the hardcopy mags I buy I give away or chuck or put in reception for the customers to read. You would be surprised who picks them up.Originally Posted by F5 Dave

whoops, sorry: nah, I have no problem sharing.
I have spoken to the guy who tells me its more a race bike than a road bike and built by some dude in Tauranga he thinks. Its not the "easy" project it appears (they never fucking are, are they?) and in particular the roller or push start only thing is a pain in the arse. That and not knowing the state of tune of the motor: It might have 12:1 compression and be a bitch to start. Plus as cool as the flatslides are, for a street bike i think it needs roundslide not CV carbs: Mikuni VM28 or 30 or something. The tank is very cool and looks like a Benjies Cafe Racers job. But you need a matching seat and may need to chop off that rear loop (AFTER the frame is painted) and then reinforce what is left to make a seat/inner/rear guard work.

80% complete, but the last 20% will take 80% of the build time and 50% of the budget.
Take it from me, projects seem simple, but they are for the very well motivated undistracted kind of guy. I've been that guy some stages of my life, but I'm not now. Maybe again once I'm retired in 20 odd years.

Absolutely agree. I think it should sell for around the $3k mark as it sits but even with a lot of DIY I reckon there is at least that in it again to get it running, plus any extra painting/plating/faffing. And of course it is entirely saleable at that when its complete. Not. I can see the temptation, I can see the hurdles and pitfalls....on the bright side, christmas is THE time for marrage and relationship breakups-score enough of that work and you can buy that puppy and get a professional to finish it off for you as well as keep the taxman happy.
