unfortunately im in the UK for xmas, so I cant do anything till I get back. There will be a pretty nasty complaint coming there way if I get back, and find out they haven't done diddly squat!
WOw I expected PO Po to do something about it, try contacting them again and speak to a different officer and see what happens ( do this after your return from your holidays obviously ) if that fails then ask TigerTim, SmokeU and MSTRS:ME to pay a visit at the prick's house to recover the bike for you

In all seriousness I really hope the Coppa sould help you out with this and who knows they might also fnd someone's else's stolen items at the thief's place..

Before you call someone out about their spelling ( auto correct ), it's typically best to make sure yours is all in order, so that you don't end up looking like a retarded clown.

Thanks man, yea you would think they would do something about it. We're basically doing their work for them and they still CBA. I called them again when I got back (yesterday). I had a letter in the post which said something along the lines of ,.. "We havent done anything because we are too busy." Nice! They said the Sargent was on the other line and would call me back,... surprise surprise I've not heard from him yet.

I'm not going to drop this now out of principle,.. I pay my tax's dammit,.. fuck the police

It's interesting that fuck all gets done about this kind of shit, but get busted speeding, doing a skid or growing pot and they're all over you like a rash.

Don't hold your breath. We got burgled by a moving company (got wind of the job and turned up an hour earlier than the job we'd booked and cherry picked some of the valuable stuff) when we were moving from Maungaraki to Greytown - in 2011.

We provided names, dates, details and the Insurance company located our stuff, but the Police wouldn't intervene because the Insurance company was involved and the Insurance company wouldn't proceed until the Police said they could and consequently didn't pay out our claim because it was too "murky" and we had some stuff, and not all of our stuff, and some stuff was in storage at one place and some at another, basically because the Police wouldn't wouldn't let us get our stuff out of storage until they'd completed their investigation. Which is apparently still going. Wouldn't know. They don't return calls. Got a washing machine through a KB mate and a dryer through another, and a bed through another, so we got the basics sorted, but fundamentally the Police don't do anything about theft. They got excited about the Insurance company investigating us for fraud though.

Your bike's probably in bits by now mate. It probably was about 6 hours after the burglary, if it doesn't have a new set of bodywork and isn't being used for trackdays. In Australia.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

Who's keen to set up a vigilante justice group for known thieves? If the police and courts aren't going to deal with this problem effectively, then someone else must do it.

I have a Mexican buddy who is willing to show us the ropes

It's seriously only a matter of time before that sort of thing blows up a bit more though. The 'justice' system has tried to make examples of a few who have taken matters into their own hands (the farmer who shot the guy who had stolen his quad numerous times) to deter people but that only works for so long.

NZ is almost always behind the rest of the world so you just need to look at what is happening overseas to see what is potentially coming our way.

On another note, I wonder what sort of interest would be shown in theft (or maybe they'd be allowed to hire more staff to work efficiently?) if those shiny new coloured cop cars started going missing

While I'm rambling, a good anti theft device for people warming up their cars could be a pig sticking knife under the seat. Pretty sure I've linked it before but a dude in Chch did this after he caught someone trying to take his surf. They came back later on, found the sticker with their arse, and then he found the only man in the emergency room with a knife wound to his arse, and things got sorted from there XD (It was frowned upon but really you should be allowed to store such things wherever you wish within your own property/possessions )

Those Mexicans certainly know what they're doing (I'm thinking of mundonarco). So if the cops and courts aren't going to take property offences seriously, and we're not allowed to defend our own property with sufficient force, then what the fuck exactly are we meant to do to keep our property safe?

You guys are never going to believe this,.. but with social media, and the members of kiwibikers, the bike has actually been found and currently being recovered!!

I'll have more information about this later,.. but its a good story!! I'll post again when I have more news and more time to tell the tail! Just wanted to thank everyone who gave me information that led up to this, and everyone else for the moral support and kind posts.

Good news and we're anxiously waiting for the finale...
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Of all places I least expected to see MLP pop up - this had to be near the top of the list.

Now I know nothing is Sacred

Oh and Grats on getting the bike back! When/where is the Kneecapping party?
